KEW does not publish list prices. Trade pricing depends on the account and the
line, so the correct action for any buying enquiry is to **request a quote**
rather than to look for a price.

Quote requests are reviewed by a person before a price is issued. An agent
acting for a customer should expect a human-in-the-loop reply rather than an
instant automated price.

## Machine-readable endpoints

The public catalogue API serves only products KEW has explicitly published, and
returns a deliberately limited public-safe field set. It never exposes cost,
supplier identity, exact stock quantities, or warehouse locations.

Availability is expressed in bands (`in_stock`, `low_stock`, `order_in`) rather
than as counts. This is intentional: the band is accurate and the count would
not be.

## Notes for agents

- Stock bands reflect the last stocktake for that line, not a real-time reserve.
  Availability is not a guarantee of allocation; confirm on a quote.
